Lately I've been listening to this song on repeat. Its from a Belgian artist Angele named "Bruxelles je t'aime" (Brussels I love you), a love letter to her city. She lists out its flaws, puts it in contrast with other fancier places, Paris especially, and basically disses it a bit but still expresses how much she loves all of it, so beautifully. It made even me want to fall in love with the city I barely ever thought about.

I know there are and have been songs about and of Addis but I was wishing I could find a song about my own city I could be just obsessed with when Rophnan came yesterday and dropped "Shegiye", so far my favorite from the two albums. Articulates the fomo some of us have about the cities he mentions and brings it all back to all the sefers. A wonderfully crafted anthem capturing the energy of the city in its rhymes and flow.

Fomo is cured by missing out for long enough.
