I hope the monstrous individuals involved with this event are removed from their positions and replaced with competent people who have the capacity for empathy.

No amount of disgust and rage will ever repair our sins against the living system. No amount of anger or sadness will make up for the inhuman actions of such people.

This is a dark spot on us as a species. Kidnapping this man's pet and killing it after he raised it for 7 years. It's just an example of how far we have to go to be something positive for this world.
