BACKSTAGE: THE HEART OF THE FAMILY.

The chaos of the grand finale still echoed in the garden, but backstage, five of them had gathered—Mayesh, Hanan, Solace, Saint, and Ailesy—each catching their breath from the madness.

Mayesh collapsed dramatically onto an old velvet chaise lounge, fanning herself as if she’d just finished a marathon. “Okay, let’s be real—this whole ‘Yank’ performance was absolutely unhinged. But, honestly? It was brilliant.”

Saint leaned casually against the wall, his signature smirk in place. “I have to agree. Solace, you somehow managed to pull off fake snowballs, a wallet interrogation, and an ending that felt like Broadway. I mean, who even thinks of this stuff?”

Hanan sat cross-legged on the floor, his voice calm but tinged with admiration. “You really do too much, Solace. Between running around with your band and everything else, you still managed to plan all of this. It’s insane how you pull it off every time.”

Solace, who had been fiddling with the hem of his jacket, looked up, caught off guard by their praise. His usual composed demeanor softened, and a faint smile played at his lips. “Come on, it wasn’t just me,” he said with a quiet laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. “This was a team effort.”

“Don’t even try to be modest,” Mayesh chimed in, smirking. “You were the one with a full PowerPoint presentation for this whole thing. Just admit it—you’re the mastermind here.”

The others nodded in agreement, and Ailesy, perched on the arm of the lounge, added, “Seriously, Solace. Even when you’re swamped with band stuff, you still manage to make time for us. You make all of this feel possible, and I don’t think we say it enough, but we’re grateful for you.”

Solace paused, his gaze flickering between them as he spoke. “I know I’ve been… Distracted lately,” he admitted, his tone gentle but sincere. “With the band and everything going on, sometimes it feels like I’m not giving enough back to you guys.”

Hanan gave him a sharp look, resolute in his response. “That’s ridiculous. You’ve done more than enough. We all see it, even if you don’t.”

Solace’s smile grew a little warmer, his posture easing as he turned his attention to each of them. “If I’ve done anything right, it’s because of you all. Hanan Gege, you’re the reason we stay grounded. Your leadership holds this family together, even when everything feels like it’s spinning out of control. And Saint, your mind? I don’t even know how it works, but somehow, you’re always five steps ahead, solving problems before we even know they exist.”

Saint grinned, tipping an imaginary hat. “Guilty as charged.”

“And Mayesh Jiejie,” Solace continued, “You’re the heart of our creativity. Your vision and attention to detail—it’s why everything tonight looked perfect. The rose petals, the props, the entire atmosphere—that was all you.”

Mayesh dramatically wiped a fake tear with her scarf. “Finally, someone who understands my genius.”

Solace laughed softly, his gaze settling on Ailesy. “And Ailesy, you’re the spark. You’re the one who gets us moving, who turns every wild idea into something real. Half the time, we wouldn’t even get started without you saying, ‘Let’s just do it.’”

Ailesy leaned over and nudged her shoulder, smiling. “Hey, that’s what family’s for, right?”

Solace exhaled deeply, his voice filled with warmth as he looked at them. “I mean it, though. Last night, during the gift exchange, it really hit me how much love this family has. Seeing the effort you all put into everything, how much you care for one another—it reminded me why we do this. I’m proud of us. Proud of all of you.”

The air shifted, not heavy but full of meaning, each of them taking in the weight of his words.

“Well,” Hanan said with a sly grin, breaking the moment, “Don’t get too sentimental on us now, Solace. You’re gonna make me cry, and that’s not happening tonight.”

“Exactly,” Saint added, grabbing his jacket. “The family’s probably already plotting their next snowball ambush, and we can’t miss that.”

Solace shook his head, laughing as he stood. “Alright, let’s go. The chaos isn’t going to handle itself.”

And with that, the five of them walked back toward the noise—hearts full, bonds stronger than ever, and ready to take on whatever wild adventures came next.

The music begins to play softly in the background, and it feels as if time slows down. The rhythm is both gentle and smooth—completely in contrast with the high-energy performance that Amu brought moments before. June mustered the lyrics and sang beautifully tonight! His deep voice fills the room, and it successfully touches everyone's heart. June closes the stage and captivates the heart of many Cartier's Buddies tonight. Truly, it's a night to remember!

Last but not least! The closing of Cartier's Special Performance is here. Grant—Erskine Cartier sat poised in front of the piano to play a beautiful tune for Cartier's Buddies tonight. "I have practiced playing piano again after so long just for tonight! So, please enjoy the show." Grant said right before he played the piano. The hall fell silent just before his fingers hovered over the piano keys and began to play the notes he meticulously remembered. The melody was a masterpiece! It was clear that his effort and heartfelt passion had paid off by this performance. Reached the final notes at last, the audience erupted into thunderous applause to give him a well-deserved standing ovation.

"Thank you, Cartier's Buddies, for being such an incredible audience. Tonight has been unforgettable, and I'm honored to have shared this moment with all of you." And with that, the curtain fell on Cartier's Special Performance, leaving everyone with memories to cherish and hearts full of joy.
