Model Speaking Answer

Describe a person who has inspired you. You should say:**- Who the person is
- How you know this person- What qualities this person has
- And explain how they have inspired you.
---
Okay, um... I'd like to talk about my high school teacher, Mr. Roberts, who has been a great source of inspiration for me. So, Mr. Roberts was my English teacher during my final two years in school, and, uh, I got to know him quite well because I was also part of the debate club, which he supervised.
Well, uh, Mr. Roberts has many admirable qualities, but, um, I think the one that stands out the most is his passion for teaching. He always went beyond the regular curriculum to, you know, make sure we understood the subject in a deeper way. He had this amazing ability to make even the most boring topics interesting and, um, encouraged us to think critically rather than just memorize facts. Another quality that I greatly admire is his patience. He never lost his temper, even when students were struggling or not paying attention, which, you know, can be quite a challenge for a teacher.
Now, as for how he inspired me, well, it’s mainly through his dedication and his genuine care for his students' growth. He always emphasized the importance of continuous learning and, uh, being curious about the world. This has, um, really stayed with me, and I think it’s one of the reasons I developed a love for learning myself. Whenever I face a difficult situation, I remember his words about perseverance and, um, staying focused on the end goal.
So, overall, Mr. Roberts not only inspired me academically but also, you know, shaped my outlook on life. He taught me that education is not just about passing exams but about, um, developing a mindset that helps you navigate through life’s challenges. And, for that, I am really grateful.
