بخش مسابقه حنظله، در حوزه محصولات تربیتی کودک و نوجوان شامل محصولات نوشتاری و محتوایی، صوتی و تصویری، بازی محور و سبک زندگی مرّوج فرهنگ مقاومت، شروع به دریافت آثار کرده است.

علاوه بر مبالغ نقدی، آثار منتخب از حمایت‌‌هایی در زمینه تولید، نشر، بازاریابی و عرضه بین‌المللی نیز برخوردار خواهند شد.مجموع جوایز نقدی این مسابقه ۳۲هزار یورو ازجمله نشان عالی حنظله به ارزش 7هزار یورو است.

جایزه حنظله نام خود را از شخصیت نمادین «حنظله» می‌گیرد؛ پسربچه‌ای فلسطینی که پشت به مخاطب، با دستان بسته و پای برهنه ایستاده و نماد مظلومیت، مقاومت، و وجدان بیدار جهان عرب و فلسطین شده است، می‌گیرد. این شخصیت توسط کاریکاتوریست برجسته‌ی فلسطینی ناجی العلی خلق شد. حنظله نماد ایستادگی در برابر اشغال، سکوت جهان و خیانت‌های سیاسی است.پس از ترور ناجی العلی در سال 1987، حنظله به نماد جهانی مقاومت فلسطینی تبدیل شد.
