On the anniversary of the 1978 historic uprising of the people of Qom against the oppressive Pahlavi regime, Imam Khamenei met with thousands of people from Qom Province in the Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah on January 8, 2025. In this meeting, Imam Khamenei explained the reason why Iran doesn't negotiate with US, considering their hostility toward Islamic Republic to be the result of them losing a significant political and economic opportunity due to the Islamic Revolution.
