*بعد مرور أكثر من سنتين من الحرب، النظام الصحي في السودان في حالة انهيار تام.*

حسب تقارير منظمة الصحة العالمية والأمم المتحدة، أكثر من 80% من المنشآت الصحية في المناطق المتأثرة بالصراع توقفت عن العمل. في ولاية الخرطوم، تم تدمير 41 من أصل 87 مستشفى، مما أثر على وصول أكثر من ثلث السكان إلى الرعاية الصحية. كما تم توثيق أكثر من 100 هجوم على المنشآت الصحية منذ بداية النزاع، أسفرت عن مقتل 55 شخصًا وإصابة 104 آخرين. من بينهم 25 عامل إغاثة قُتلوا في عام 2024 وحده.​

الهجمات على النظام الصحي والمنشآت الصحية والأطباء أثناء الحرب *تُعد انتهاكًا صارخًا للقانون الدولي الإنساني وتُعتبر جريمة حرب كبرى.* _ورغم ذلك، ما زلنا نسمع عن هذه الانتهاكات يوميًا، وما زلنا نعيش بعضها_

*Over two years into the war, Sudan's healthcare system is in complete collapse.*

According to reports from the World Health Organization and the United Nations, over 80% of healthcare facilities in conflict-affected areas have ceased operations. In Khartoum State, 41 out of 87 hospitals have been destroyed, impacting access to healthcare for more than a third of the population. More than 100 attacks on healthcare facilities have been documented since the conflict began, resulting in 55 deaths and 104 injuries. Among these, 25 aid workers were killed in 2024 alone.​

*Attacks on healthcare systems, facilities, and personnel during war are a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and constitute a major war crime.* Yet, we continue to hear about these violations daily, and many of us still experience them firsthand.​

Dear MedSIN-Sudan Family,
I hope this email finds you well and safe!
I am writing to you this email today with immense pleasure to open the 2nd call for MedSIN-Sudan Delegation to the 74th IFMSA General Assembly, August Meeting 2025 which is taking place Physically in Ioannina, Greece and Online from the 1st till the 8th of August 2025.
The August Meeting is a once in a year opportunity where IFMSA NMOs come together to discuss and decide on the Federation important matters, it also gathers IFMSA members from all over the world to provide them with a platform to collaborate, exchange ideas, and address global health challenges. During the meeting, participants engage in discussions, sessions, and activities focused on various aspects of healthcare. The event aims to foster international cooperation, empower medical students with knowledge and skills, and encourage them to become advocates for positive change in healthcare on a global scale.

Meeting information:
Location: Ioannina, Greece and Online.
Dates: From the 1st till the 8th of August 2025.
Sessions: Presidents’ (online only), NMO Management and Standing Committees sessions.
Available Spots: 6 - 8 (depending on the participation of MedSIN-Sudan TOs).
Fees: 185 Euros for physical delegates and free for online delegates.

Note: For applicants interested to apply for physical spots you have to be mindful of the tight timeframe and the visa process which may take a long period.

Application Process:
Upload your CORRECTLY FILLED support letter signed by your LMO President. If the LMO President is an applicant, then another Executive Board member from the LMO must sign the document instead.

Make sure the name of the meeting is written correctly: The 74th IFMSA General Assembly August Meeting 2025.
Upload the latest version of your Curriculum Vitae.

Submit your application through the submission form following the requirements.
Submission Form: HERE.
The shortlisted applicants will undergo interviews to assess the above-mentioned points. The schedule will be sent following applicants' validity.
Deadline for applications is Thursday, 10th of July 2025, 23:59 GMT+2.

Validity Criteria:
Correctly filled-out support letter that is signed by the applicant, signed and stamped by the LMO President.
Filled out CV according to the provided template.
Filled out application form before the deadline.

Payment Process and Support Letters Precautions and Constraints:
In previous IFMSA meetings, in order to avoid any debts to MedSIN-Sudan that can subsequently affect our voting rights and membership status within IFMSA, the MedSIN-Sudan EB would collect the fees in person from selected delegates before confirming their spot. However, due to the war situation and the inapplicability of that process, the Support Letter for participation has been amended to indicate that any damage or debt due to a delegate’s participation or unwarranted cancellation will be an official debt that the LMO undertakes to pay. Until the process of payment is figured out, any applicant who submits a Support Letter and is subsequently selected, the LMO will be immediately under debt to MedSIN-Sudan until their fees are paid. Please be VERY AWARE of this when signing the Support Letters for your applicants.

Important Notes:
- Once a member is selected to the delegation and confirms their registration, it becomes their responsibility to settle the associated participation fees within the given deadline.
- If a member fails to pay the required participation fees by the deadline, the outstanding amount will automatically become the responsibility of the respective LMO and it’ll be invoiced with their membership fees.
- MedSIN-Sudan Executive Board will not accept Upon Arrival Payment Requests from the members unless the host/OCs approves this policy.
