The 29m Torre dei Conti #tower sits near the famous #RomanForum ruins and firefighters had to rush to rescue the workers who were inside the structure.

Addis House of Culture, in collaboration with Tinsae Tsegahun, is proud to host a special screening of Rasselas Lakew’s films #TheModernist and #TheAthlete. Join us on Nov. 15 & 16 as we screen these brilliant films at the historic AHOC space, located inside the #NationalPalace.
Rasselas Lakew is a Spain-based filmmaker. He co-directed his debut feature The Athlete (2009) with Davey Frankel, an internationally acclaimed movie in which he also played the role of Abebe Bikila. His film The Modernist (2022) explores how Emperor Haile Selassie and Henri Chomette’s vision built Ethiopia’s modern architecture. Screenings will be followed by a brief Q&A with the director.

Ethiopia Tapped to Host COP32 Climate Summit
Ethiopia is set to be confirmed on Tuesday as host of the #COP32 climate summit in 2027, the president of this year's #COP30 gathering told Reuters.
The choice of host for next year's COP31 remains a point of contention, however, with both #Australia and #Turkey vying for the 2026 event. Australia made its COP31 bid in partnership with the #PacificIslands, which are considered to be among the world's most vulnerable places to #climatechange.
