Shaykh al-'Uthaymin on saying/ wishing kuffar Merry Christmas/ or their festivals:
"This is haram without a doubt and perhaps the person is not safe from kufr because he is congratulating them on celebrations of kufr, being pleased with them. Being pleased with kufr is kufr and from that is the Christmas greeting."

Aid Comes With Seeking Forgiveness
Shaykh ul-Islaam Ahmad Bin AbdulHaleem Ibn Taymiyyah [D.728 A.H.] [رحمه الله] said:
❝…Whoever hopes for something he strives and seeks it, and whoever fears something flees from it.
If a person strove and sought aid from Allaah [تعالى] and adhered to seeking forgiveness [Istighfaar] and striving, then Allaah will most surely give him from His excellence that which never even crossed his mind.
If a person finds that his heart does not become happy and delighted, nor does it achieve the sweetness of Eemaan, nor the light of guidance then he should repent [Tawbah] a lot and seek forgiveness [Istighfaar] a lot, and he should adhere to striving as much has he can, since indeed Allaah says:
«As for those who strive hard in Us [Our Cause], We will surely guide them to Our Paths [i.e. Allaah’s Religion – Islamic Monotheism].» [Ankaboot: 69]
It is upon him to establish the obligatory duties outwardly and inwardly; and adhere to the straight path seeking aid with Allaah, absolving himself from strength or might expect with Allaah.❞

Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
"The worst type of generosity is your generosity in giving away your good deeds to others—through backbiting, gossiping, slander, insulting, and cursing.
And the most beautiful type of stinginess is to withhold yourself from wasting your good deeds.
The truly fortunate one seeks forgiveness for their faults and remains patient in the face of hardships."
📕 [Majmoo' Al-Fatawa, 8/454]

It is astonishing to see that those who recite in their prayers:
“He (Allaah) begets not, nor is He begotten”, yet they are seen wishing and celebrating with those who ascribe a son to Allaah!
✘ Do not listen to those who make excuses and say that wishing is not like celebrating.
✘ Christmas is not a part of Christianity, there is nothing in their books to support the claim. The Christians are only imitating the pagans in their rituals.
As Allah تعالى said:
“And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!”
[Surah at-Tawbah: 30]

Winter:
Ibn Rajab rahimahullah:
"The winter is the believers spring, where he walks around in the garden of obedience. The days are short and cold so that one can fast easily and the nights are long so that one can sleep well and pray the night prayer as well."
[Lata'if-ul-Ma'arif, p. 435]

Ibn al-Qayyim (may ALLĀH have mercy on him) said:
*It (congratulating on Christmas) is as great a sin as congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone, or having illicit sexual relations, and so on. Many of those who have no respect for their religion fall into this error; they do not realise the offensiveness of their actions."*

They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allāh is the third of three."[276] And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

"Whoever seeks the Pleasure of ALLĀH while angering the people will have ALLĀH pleased with him, who shall make the people pleased with him.
Whoever seeks to please the people while angering ALLĀH will have ALLĀH angry with him, who shall make the people angry with him."

Sending ṣalāh upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday is better than on the rest of the days, and its night (Thursday night) is the best of nights. He ﷺ said, “Among the best of your days is Friday, so frequently send ṣalāh upon me therein.”
