۝So, if you were given authority, would you perhaps cause corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship? ۝

Severing ties of kinship is linked to corruption, and those who sever ties of kinship and those who cause them to be severed will be cursed, banished, and banished from the mercy of God.

O God, we ask You for the rectification of hearts, and we ask You for guidance and safety.

✨A beautiful ḥadīth qudsī reminding us that there is no one who forgives like Allah. No matter what we may have done, He is waiting for us to turn to Him with sincerity and humility, and to beg for His forgiveness. He is al-Ghafūr (The All-Forgiving) and al-Ghaffār (The Most Forgiving). Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy.

﴿ٱللَّهُ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَیُّ ٱلۡقَیُّومُۚ لَا تَأۡخُذُهُۥ سِنَةࣱ وَلَا نَوۡمࣱۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِ وَمَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِی یَشۡفَعُ عِندَهُۥۤ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ یَعۡلَمُ مَا بَیۡنَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ وَلَا یُحِیطُونَ بِشَیۡءࣲ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦۤ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاۤءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرۡسِیُّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ وَلَا یَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِیُّ ٱلۡعَظِیمُ﴾ [البقرة ٢٥٥]

Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living,[98] the Self-Sustaining.[99] Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them,[100] and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī[101] extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High,[102] the Most Great.[103]

﴿رَبَّنَاۤ ءَامَنَّا بِمَاۤ أَنزَلۡتَ وَٱتَّبَعۡنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكۡتُبۡنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِینَ﴾ [آل عمران ٥٣]

Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger [i.e., Jesus], so register us among the witnesses [to truth]."

﴿وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن یَشۡرِی نَفۡسَهُ ٱبۡتِغَاۤءَ مَرۡضَاتِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ﴾ [البقرة ٢٠٧]

And of the people is he who sells himself, seeking means to the approval of Allāh. And Allāh is Kind to [His] servants.

۝So that He may test you as to which of you is best in deed۝

The standard is quality and excellence, not quantity or scarcity!

O Allah, make us among those who do good deeds and worship.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Everything has a reality, and the servant will not reach the reality of īmān until he knows that what afflicted him could never miss him, and that what missed him could never have afflicted him.” (Aḥmad)

EXHORTATION TO SEEK PROVISIONS AFTER FRIDAY PRAYER AND REMEMBER ALLĀH ALL TIMES

ALLĀH says,

فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلَإةُ
Then when the Salah is complete,

means, when the Friday prayer is finished,

فَانتَشِرُوا فِي الاْاَرْضِ وَابْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ
you may disperse through the land, and seek the bounty of ALLĀH,

After ALLĀH forbade Muslims from working after hearing the Adhan and ordered them to gather for the Friday prayer, HE allowed them to spread throughout the earth and seek bounty after the prayer is finished.

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that when the Friday prayer finished, Irak bin Malik would stand by the gate of the Masjid and invoke ALLĀH, saying: "O ALLĀH! I have accepted and complied with YOUR Call, performed the prayer YOU ordered and dispersed as YOU ordered me. Therefore, grant me of Your favor and YOU are the best of those who grant provisions."

ALLAH'S statement,

وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
and remember ALLĀH often so you may be successful.

means, while you are buying and selling, giving and taking, remember ALLĀH much and do not let this life busy you from what benefits you in the Hereafter.

There is a Hadith that states: "Whoever enters a marketplace and says,

لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
'Lā ilāha illallāh, HE is alone without partners, HIS is the sovereignty and HIS is the praise, and HE is Able to do all things.'

Then ALLĀH will record a thousand-thousand (a million) good deeds for him and will erase a thousand-thousand evil deeds."

Mujahid said: "A servant (of ALLĀH) will not be among those who remember ALLĀH often, until he does so while standing, sitting and lying down."

Tafsi‌r Ibn Kathīr

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

˹They say,˺ “Our Lord! Do not let our hearts deviate after you have guided us. Grant us Your mercy. You are indeed the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.

—Quran 3:8
