In a few words:

1. Create a folder for the configs.
2. Move the config file into the config folder.
3. ⚠️ Give GCam permission to access all files (check the app permissions)
4. Open GCam.
5. Double click the black area around the shutter.
6. Select and "restore" the config file

The configs folder should be created at the root of your storage (next to the Music, Downloads, etc, folders).

GCam 8.x: /GCam/Configs8/
GCam 7.x: /GCam/Configs7/
GCam 6.x: /GCam/Configs/
