Violent #crime is surging in every major city that defunded/sidelined their #police. Emperor Cuomo says it's because criminals buy guns in other states, and bring them to New York. That's 100% false. According to #FBI data, only 7% of criminals obtained firearms legally. The rest obtain them illegally through the black market, steal them, take them from crime scenes, etc.

Also, those that scream about gun violence should call for the enforcement of gun laws on the books. 83% of those who've been arrested possessing an illegal firearm, were released back on the street in New York. In other major cities, gun charges are routinely dropped by prosecutors.

Perhaps if we stop handcuffing our police (no pun intended), we can get a handle on the surge in #ViolentCrime.
