Even at ETH Zürich all lectures were available as video ... so there was no need to visit ETHZ at all ... and this happened years before COVID!

Except if you have the idea to build something in another country, so you need to check where you need to build such things ...
Obviously this is even related to people, taking the plane for every shit ...

The same for other things, for example checking a flat. Still in 2023 people are asking to travel 5 hours, when in reality the "first interview" can be done online, avoiding to waste time and money for nothing, if at the end such people already know "nope, i'm not interested, because ...".
