He did not receive timely treatment, in the footage you can see the final stage of the disease, he has about 5 days left to live.

knowing you're dead and having to wait for months before passing away
I wouldn't wish rabies on anybody. My advice - seek a rabies shot if you intend to serve in the RuAF. Don't pet kitties unless you know they're safe, as tempting as it may be
And if you get bit afterwards, seek help immediately - the vaccine only prevents onset if taken within 2 days after being bit
