For 2023 R2 software updates, Ansys Turbogrid now has automated meshing for hydro turbines. You can now mesh Kaplan and Francis turbines with square trailing edges using either all hex mesh or hybrid meshing to capture complex blade or hub geometry. In the below images, we've used hybrid meshing with leading edge and squaring edge detail to capture the partial hub gap.

In contrast with conventional #cfd methods that require #meshes, the MPS method models fluids directly using particles to represent the fluid. This allows for easily modeling the free surfaces of fluids and for modeling multiple fluid types together, along with the boundaries between these fluids.

This kinetic energy is then converted into pressure energy as the fluid passes through the impeller blades.
