I watching the first film of 2025, and let me tell you: I love how the camera walks, invisibly yet stupendously.
In case you were wondering, I was watching 'The Big Clock' by John Farrow. It's a 1948 classic mystery thriller, which I strongly recommend. Once you get by the first 35 minutes of establishing the mystery, it produces an airtight plot of people playing pretend while doing their separate investigations against the other party. Only 95 minutes, beautiful shots, my favourite deep focus, and makes great use of the temporal logic within the narrative. Basically two men bid against time as the pool continues to shorten as more clues are produced and they become more aware of the other's... well, other identity.
Took me three hours to clean the aquarium, but the fishes now swim in a slightly better water than they used to.
