Please take a minute, sit down, and really listen to the beauty of this. I have no words.
Wholesome story
I’m watching “Jurassic Park” with my kids. (They’re all under nine. It was a little intense, but they were fine.) We are at the part of the movie where they have discovered that the dinosaurs can switch genders and are laying eggs in the wild.
Daughter: “So, they can just change genders?”
Me: “I guess so.”
Daughter: “They can do that?”
Me: “I think it’s something to do with the frog DNA.”
Daughter: “Cool.”
I later see [Daughter] concentrating very hard on something.
Me: “What are you doing?”
Daughter: “Trying to change my gender. I figure if the dinosaurs can do it, I can, too.”
Me: “Well… good luck.”
Twelve years later, my daughter is now my son. We are introducing the next batch of kids in our family to “Jurassic Park”, and the same scene comes up.
Son: “Oh, hey! I remember this! I guess it worked!”
And yes, yes, I know gender and sex are different things, but I thought this was just a cute story about dinosaurs and my son.
