Sheikh Salih Al-Fawzān (حفظه الله) said:

"Prepare for death and what is to come after it. Allah gave you this life in order that you busy yourself with what will benefit you in the afterlife. So do not spend your life in play and jest."

Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah [D. 728 A.H.] [رحمه الله] said:

‎«يَنْبَغِيْ لِلْعَبْدِ أَنْ تَكُوْنَ أَنْفَاسُهُ كُلُّهَا نَفَسَيْنِ: نَفَساً يَحْمَدُ فِيْهِ رَبَّهُ، وَنَفَساً يَسْتَغْفِرْهُ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ.»

❝It is necessary for the worshipper that every breath of his is of two types:

In one breath he praises his Lord and in the other he seeks Allaah's forgiveness for his sins.❞

Shaykh Aziz Farhan حفظه الله said:

Among the violations in using the phone is what some people do by turning on the speaker during a conversation without the caller's permission, allowing those around them to listen to the discussion.

This behaviour contradicts the principle of trustworthiness. Even worse is recording the call without the caller's consent.

The Prophet ﷺ said in a narration attributed to Jabir:

If a man speaks and then looks around, it is a trust (to keep his words private).

"The month of Rajab is the key to the months of goodness and blessings"

If you knew a guest was coming to visit, you would take the time to get your house in order before they arrived.

At two months away from the beginning of Ramadan, the month of Rajab is an excellent opportunity to begin preparing.

“Which life is better than the life of a person whose worries have all united and become one concern directed towards attaining the pleasure of Allāh, gathered the scattered feelings of his heart through the devotion to Allāh, whose intentions and thoughts were once divided- each scattered in a different valley- are now focused on Allāh.

So the remembrance of the Most Beloved, the love to Him and the longing to meet Him and the comfort in being near to him becomes overwhelming for him. His concern, intentions and objectives and the feelings of his heart revolve around all this.”

الخالة - The Maternal Aunt

One of the saddest things about modern life is the utter loneliness and isolation.

People barely get married anymore, and of those who do get married, many end up divorced.

And of those who do stay married, many decide not to have kids.

And of those who do have kids, many decide to send the kids off somewhere (daycare, nursery, babysitters, schools) and go somewhere else themselves (elective job to chase dreams, etc).

At night, when finally everyone has returned home from daycare or school or work, everyone in the family is addicted to their electronics.

Kids on their tablets and adults on their phones.

We barely look up at one another to make eye contact anymore.

The family is broken, truncated, scattered.

Each individual is alone, wrapped in his or her own bubble, floating like a single atom alone through time and space.

Is it any wonder so many are depressed and anxious, adults and children alike?

We were not meant to live like this.
