A Series of Reminders About The Month of Ramaḍān - No.1

✨ There has come to you Ramadaan ✨
 
➡️It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: 

“There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month which Allaah has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and the strong devils are chained up. In it there is a night that is better than a thousand months, and whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.”

📚Narrated by Ahmad, 9213; al-Nasaa’i, 2106. classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i, 1992.

📌This hadeeth brings glad tidings to the righteous slaves of Allaah of the onset of the month of Ramadaan, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) that it had come, but he was not merely informing them, rather he was giving them glad tidings of a great occasion which is properly appreciated by the righteous who preare themselves for it, because he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) explained what Allaah has prepared in this month of the means of attaining forgiveness and the pleasure of Allaah. There are many such means, and whoever misses out on forgiveness in Ramadaan is indeed deprived.

Tawḥid Is What Unites, Not The First Day Of Fasting

Sh. Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله mentions: "The unity of the Muslims does not come about by the commencement of the fasting in Ramaḍān being in unison. Rather, unification comes about by rectifying 'Aqīdah, as what has divided the Muslims is not the beginning of the fast. Instead, what has divided them is their differing in 'Aqīdah and leaving the correct 'Aqīdah, which is taken from the Book, the Sunnah and that which the Righteous Predecessors were upon."

Ways of having your dua accepted as mentioned by Shaykh Abdul Razzaq al-Badr حفظه الله derived from the works of Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

من أسباب قبول اجابة الدعاء:

١) حضور القلب
The presence of the heart

٢) الخشوع في الدعاء
Humility and submissiveness in your supplication

٣) الإنكسار في القلب والتضرع والتذلل بين يدي الله
Breaking of the heart, pleading to Allah, and humiliating yourself before Allah

٤) إستقبال القبلة
Facing the Qiblah

٥) الدعاء على طهارة
Being upon purification i.e wudhu

٦) رفع اليدين إلي الله
Raising your hands up to Allah whilst making dua

٧) بدأ الدعاء بالثناء على الله والصلاة على رسول الله
Beginning your dua by praising Allah and sending salutations upon the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and then when finishing your dua you end with salutations

٨) تقديم التوبة والاستغفار قبل سؤال الله الحاجه
Before asking Allah for what it is that you want, reclaiming your repentance to him and seeking his forgiveness

٩) الإلحاح في الدعاء والتملَّق فيه - تلطّف الله عزوجل-.
After these introductions and steps one then begins in making dua, and he makes dua in a manner of urgency and begging, and addressing Allah with manners

١٠) دعاء الله طمعًا ورهبًا
He makes dua yearning and longing and well as fearing

١١) التوسل الي الله بأسمائه وصفاته وتوحيده
He asks Allah with His names and attributes seeking Him out alone

١٢) تقديم الصدقة قبل الدعاء
Giving Sadaqah before making dua

Give the two weak their rights!!

Alhamdulillaah as many of us will be reciting Surah an Nisaa today, let us remind ourselves of the main subject this Surah teaches.

Giving the weak their rights, the orphans and the women.

Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Allah, I have issued a warning in regards to the rights of two vulnerable groups: orphans and women.”

Source: Sunan Ibn Ma‌jah 3678
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Suyuti

"This Hadīth confirms the Islamic principle of gentleness towards the weak, like orphans and women. It is noticed in this Hadīth that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) gave extra care to the rights of orphans and women because they have no authority to resort to for defending them. So, he declared that whoever usurps their rights is sinful and exposes himself to suffering difficulty and hardship."

Some of the rights which are not taken seriously include:

📌Giving orphans their full property share.
📌Giving sisters their full share of inheritance by their brothers.
📌Giving in full the fixed Mahar to the women.
📌 Fulfilling all the rights of the wives.
📌Giving full inheritance share to the widows.
📌Giving full rights to the divorced women.

➡️This Ramadaan try to pledge to yourself that if Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala Has Blessed you the responsibility of these two groups, you will try to fulfill their all rights.

The purpose of Ramadaan is not just completing the recital of the Qur’an many times, but it is to contemplate on its meanings and act on what the Qur'an teaches us.

May Allaah SubhaanaHu wa Ta'ala Make it easy for us to learn and act upon Qur'an.
