O' Brothers Begin 'Eīd With Lowering The Gaze!
Some of the companions of Sufyān ath-Thawrī said: "We went out with ath-Thawrī on the day of 'Eīd and he said: 'Verily, the first thing we will begin our day with is lowering the gaze."
Ḥasān Ibn Abī Sinān went out for the 'Eīd and when he returned his wife said to him:
"How many beautiful women did you see today?"
And when she persisted he replied: "I did not look at anything except my thumb from the time I went out until I returned to you!

⌛ You spent a month in worship—will one day undo it all? Eid is a time of joy, but not all celebrations are the same. Some follow the Sunnah with takbeer, gratitude, and family. Others cross limits with music, trends, and excuses for “fun.”
✔️ Shaikh Dr. Asim Al-Qaryooti explores Eid as taught by the Prophet ﷺ and the Salaf. Will you uphold Ramadan’s taqwa or justify disobedience? Before you celebrate, pause—what will your Eid say about your Ramadan?

💠Rulings on Fasting the 6 Days of Shawwaal
🔊By Shaikh Abdul Salaam Ibn Abdullaah al-Sulaimaan
🎓[Member of the Council of Senior Scholars (of Saudi Arabia) and member of Lajna)
📖The Prophet ﷺ said:
❝Whoever Fasts during the month of Ramadhaan and then follows it with six days of Shawwaal will be (rewarded) as if he has Fasted perpetually.❞
📚[Saheeh Muslim and others]
Meaning: Like Fasting a complete year.
A deed is rewarded 10 times the like of it.
So, Fasting in Ramadhaan is like Fasting for 10 months (30 days X 10 = 300)
And 6 days in Shawwaal is like Fasting 2 months (6 days X 10 = 60)
So it is highly recommended to Fast the 6 days of Shawwaal, for the deed is small but the merit (reward) is big.
1️⃣ Whoever has to make for the missed Fasts of Ramadhaan, it is not permissible for him/her to begin the Fasting of 6 days of Shawwaal till they make up for missed Fasts of Ramadhaan. For he has not completed the Fast of Ramadhaan (and the wording of the Hadeeth is clear, to complete the Fast of Ramadhaan first).
2️⃣ The Fasting of the 6 days of Shawwaal cannot be given precedence over the Fasting which one has to complete as expiation (for an oath) or a vow (Nadhr, i.e. when you oblige yourself to Fast because of something that you want to happen), because the Fasting 6 days of Shawwaal is optional whereas fulfilling a vow or expiation is obligatory. An obligatory act is always given precedence over optional act. And an act of expiation has to be fulfilled immediately.
3️⃣ Making up for the missed Fast of Ramadhaan is obligatory, and it is freeing oneself of the responsibility, and a person will be questioned about them. And in the Hadeeth Qudsee it is said: ❝And the most beloved thing with which My slave comes nearer to Me is what I have enjoined upon him (i.e. the obligatory deeds).❞ [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree]
4️⃣ It is not permissible to combine the intentions of Fasting for the missed days of Ramadhaan with the Fasting for the 6 days of Shawwaal (because the condition is to complete the Fast of Ramadhaan first and then to Fast for Shawwaal).
5️⃣ It is permissible to continuously Fast the 6 days of Shawwaal together or to Fast them separately (with breaks in between), but it is better to Fast continuously. And for those who want to have gap between the days, it is permissible for them to Fast on the days which have merits to Fast in them, like Mondays and Thursdays, and the 13th, 14th & 15th of each month (Ayyaam al-Beedh).
6️⃣ It has not been legislated to make up for the missed days of Shawwaal, because it a Sunnah which (is bounded by time and) one has missed out on the opportunity, irrespective of if one has missed them because of a valid excuse or not.

Fāṭimah Daughter of Imām al-Birzālī
Fāṭimah daughter of al-Qāsim bin Muḥammad bin Yūsuf bin Muḥammad, Ummal-Ḥasan, daughter of our Shaikh, the Imām ʿAlamud-Dīn al-Birzālī.
Her father, Imām al-Birzālī, said, “I took her along to the gatherings of the study of ḥadīth when she was three days old. She had memorised from the Qurʾān and performed Ḥajj and studied ḥadīth from Shaikhs, the number of Shaikhs she heard from reaching 185. She wrote out Ibn Taymiyyah’s Al-Aḥkām and also a complete copy of Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī by hand herself which she completed a few days before her death.”
And this copy of Bukhārī of hers is in Damascus and is one that is relied on and quoted from.
Her father continued, “She performed Ḥajj and heard ḥadīth on the way to the Ḥijāz and herself narrated ḥadīth in the two Ḥarams.
She was a blessed woman, guarding her obligatory and optional prayers. She used to strive and was eager in doing good deeds. She had compassion and khair and intelligence and knowledge and good which never left her. She was married for about five years and never left her house, I only ever saw things from her that would please me. When I would see her praying I would become pleased and say, ‘I hope that Allaah benefits me through her,’ because she used to pray a complete ṣalāh and strive in making duʿā. She never once asked me for anything from the dunyā not even to buy anything she might need. I benefitted from her in this dunyā and I hope Allaah will benefit me through her in the Hereafter.”
She passed away in the year 731 hijrī at the age of 24, raḥimahallāh.

'Ali said: O carriers of knowledge, put it into practice, for the truly knowledgeable person is the one who learns and then acts and whose knowledge and actions align with one another. There will be people who carry knowledge but it does not go any deeper than their throats and their private behavior is completely different from their public behavior and their knowledge and their actions do not align.

✨The Last Two Verses of Surah al Baqarah ✨
The Prophet ﷺ said,
“Whoever recites the two verses at the end of Sooratul-Baqarah in the night, they will suffice him.”
(Bukhaaree 5009, Muslim 808)
The sufficing here refers to the fact that they will protect him from evil and despised matters, and the Shaytaan will not approach him in the night, and he will be accredited with virtue and reward. And all of these are gathered from this narration. (See Fat-hul-Baaree by Ibn Hajr 9/56)
📌Imaam Ahmad reported in his Musnad from Abu Dharr (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) that the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said:
“I was given the last two verses from Sooratul-Baqarah from the treasure that is just beneath the Throne that was not given to a Prophet before me.”
(No. 21564, Saheeh li-ghairihi, authentic due to supporting reports).
📌Imaam Muslim reports in his Saheeh (no. 173) from ‘Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) that he said:
“When the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu alaihi wassallam) was taken on the Night Journey, he went as far as Sidratul-Muntahaa (The Lote Tree at the furthest boundary) which is in the Sixth Heaven. It is there where everything that ascends from the Earth stops, then it is taken from there. And it is there where everything that descends from above stops, then it is taken from there. Allaah says:
“Then that which covered the Lote-tree did cover cover it.” (an-Najm 53:16) Moths of gold. And the Messenger of Allaah was given three things: He was given the five daily Prayers, he was given the final verses of Sooratul-Baqarah, and he was given forgiveness for the major sins of his nation for those who do not associate anything in worship with Allaah.”
📌Imaam an-Nawawee (rahimahullaah) said:
“What is intended by forgiveness is that the major sinner will not remain in Hellfire forever, and not that he will not be punished at all, but he may receive the punishment deserving upon the sinners. Or the intent [of forgiveness] could be that some of the Ummah is forgiven for their major sins – and that is something particular to this Ummah.”
(Sharh an-Nawawee 2/3)
📌Imaam Muslim (no. 806) narrates in his Saheeh from Ibn ‘Abbaas (radiyallaahu ‘anhumaa) who said:
“While Jibreel was sitting with the Prophet, he heard a creaking sound from above him, so he raised his head and said: “This is a door in Heaven that has been opened today, and it has never been opened before today. An angel descended from it, and this angel has come down to the Earth. He has never descended before this day ever. So the angel gave the salautations of Salaam and said: ‘Receive glad tidings of two lights that have been given to you that were never given to a Prophet before you: The Opening Chapter of the Book (Al-Faatihah), and the closing verses at the end of Al-Baqarah. You will not recite a single letter from them but you will be given reward.”

Whatever Allaah has taken, it is with Wisdom. And whatever He has allowed to remain, it is out of Mercy. A Believer will never lose as long as he is between the Wisdom of his Lord and His Mercy!
