In the memory of Ernest Hemingway on July 2nd:

Ernest Hemingway was an influential American author known for his simple and direct writing style. He explored themes such as love, war, loss, and human conflicts in his works. Some of his most famous novels include "The Old Man and the Sea" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls." Unfortunatley, Hemingway committed suicide on July 2nd 1961 due to a poor mental health state. Hemingway's impact on literature is profound, and his legacy continues to inspire readers and writers worldwide.

Aldous Huxley's birth is a great opportunity to discuss two dominant categories of novels.

Huxley and George Orwell are the most prominent figures in writing The Novel of Ideas. By this, it is meant that the main character is the speaker of what the author believes in. He is merely a marionette who is not in search of living a real life, but he is an orator who speaks up for a specific group of people. For this reason, in the majority of works of this sort, the characters are flat.
 
On the contrary, in The Novel of Character, the main character is a round one who is evolving emotionally and mentally throughout the story. Emotions and inner conflicts are much more significant than convictions and philosophies. Even the characters' beliefs are not injected into their mind (what happens in the novels of ideas), they are the fruits of their pursuit of living a true life. Dostoevsky, Henry James, and Sadegh Hedayat are great examples of this sort.
