جاء إطلاق الشبكة ضمن مشروع ضمان الحماية القانونية للصحفيين، الذي تنفذه منظمة صدى بالشراكة مع اليونسكو والصندوق العالمي للدفاع عن وسائل الإعلام.
ويسعى المشروع إلى توفير وصول آمن وسريع للصحفيين إلى خدمات الحماية القانونية والمشورة المهنية. بحسب بيان الإشهار.
