Hi! So letβs learn the next particle γ§, pronounced de.
At the beginner stage, the first usage of γ§ is to indicate the place where an ACTION occurs.
Action examples:
β ε―γΎγ nemasu, to sleep
β ι£γΉγΎγ tabemasu, to eat
β ι£²γΏγΎγ nomimasu, to drink
β ιγ³γΎγ asobimasu, to play
β εεΌ·γγΎγbenkyou shimasu, to study
Sentence examples:
β γ¬γΉγγ©γ³γγ§γι£γΉγΎγγ
I eat at a restaurant
β ι¨ε±γγ§γζ₯ζ¬θͺγγγεεΌ·γγΎγγ
Yesterday I studied Japanese in my room.
Here weβve restaurant and room as the place where eating and studying happened.
And this is what makes the particle differs from particle γ« which can also be used to show place but for EXISTENCE usually verb γγγΎγ/γγΎγ.
Sentence example:
β η«γγ―γι¨ε±γγ«γγγΎγγ(existence, wujud lol)
Cat is in the room.
People usually get confused because γγγΎγ/γγΎγ are associated with particle γ« but in Japanese, we also have the verb γ¦γγΎγ form.
So Vγ¦γγΎγ is a verb form where an action is happening now/continuous (-ing)
Letβs say now, Iβm studying Japanese.
