MAY 26: PRIESTS KILLED BY THE COMMUNARDS
The Martyrs of the Paris Commune
Priests and Martyrs
Died: 1871
---
Bl. Mathieu-Henri Planchat was a Vincentian priest. Bl. Ladislas Radigue, Bl. Polycarpe Tuffier, Bl. Marcellin Rouchouze, and Bl. Frezal Tardieu were Picpus priests. All of them were taken as hostages and later martyred via firing squad by the Paris Commune, a French revolutionary government. Its anti-clerical policies led to the shooting of the five priests and to the closing of several churches and Catholic schools.
HOLY ASTROPHYSICIST AND POLITICIAN
Venerable Enrico Medi
---
Today is the death anniversary of the Ven. Enrico Medi. He was an Italian married layperson and Franciscan tertiary. He was an astrophysicist, politician, and professor. He took part in television and radio broadcasts of popular science in which, dealing with creation, nature and its laws, he did not fail to recall discreetly, but effectively, the essential theme of faith. He was part of the Vatican Council of the Laity and fought divorce.
MAY 26: THE PATRON SAINT OF LAUGHTER
Saint Filippo Romolo Neri
Priest and Founder
Died: 1595
---
He was an Italian priest and founder. He decided to become a priest after meeting St. Ignatius of Loyola. He established the Congregation of the Oratory, famously called the Oratorians. They were tasked to preach the Good News in the towns that they visited. He was also known for his witty humor. He loved to make the people around him happy. He is the patron saint of laughter. He is also called the “Second Apostle of Rome.”
MAY 26: POPE WHO ALLOWED US TO EAT ANYTHING
Saint Eleutherius
Pope and Martyr
Died: 189
---
He was our pope for 15 years during the 2nd century. He was Greek. He served as a deacon of two popes: St. Anicetus and St. Soter. He fought Marcionism and Gnosticism but was careful as not to split Christianity. He issued a decree which allowed Christians to eat any food, in contrast with Jewish norms. It also seems that with another decree of his, he ordered that Easter should be celebrated on a Sunday. He died as a martyr.
Fighting Lust Before It Grows
(A message from a brother in the battle)

I want to share something deeply personal—because I know I’m not the only one.

Lust has been a real struggle in my life. At first, it was small. I thought I could handle it. I let it crawl into my heart. I stayed silent. I didn’t ask for help. I was ashamed—and honestly, too prideful to admit it. Now, I see how much ground it’s tried to take in my life.

But by the grace of God, I haven’t given up. And neither should you.

We are in a real spiritual battle. The enemy wants to isolate us, shame us, and keep us from the mercy of Christ. But Christ came precisely for sinners—and He gave us the sacraments, especially Confession, to be healed and restored.

Here are a few things I’ve learned that have helped me fight:
1. Confession is powerful. Don’t wait. Don’t hide. Run to the Lord in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He already knows, and He waits with open arms. His mercy is greater than your sin.
2. Reach out early. Temptation grows in silence. Message someone. Talk to a brother. Don’t let the sin fester in the dark.
3. Guard your senses. What you watch, listen to, and scroll through forms your desires. Be intentional—practice custody of the eyes. Uninstall what you need to. Flee occasions of sin.
4. Fill your soul. Go to Mass, even daily if you can. Pray the Rosary—Our Lady is a fierce protector of purity. Read Scripture. Feed your soul with the things of Heaven.
5. Fast and offer sacrifices. Denying your body teaches your soul to lead. Even small acts—cold showers, skipping snacks, waking up earlier to pray—train the will and unite us to the Cross.
6. Stay hopeful. If you fall, get up. Again and again. Don’t listen to the lie that you’ve “failed too many times.” God’s grace is new every morning. The saints didn’t become saints because they never fell—but because they never stopped turning back to God.

And finally—if you’re fighting lust, or anything else, please don’t be afraid to reach out to this group. No one here is going to judge you. Honestly, your account is private—we don’t even know who you are. You’re not alone. We’re all trying to follow Christ, and we need each other.

This fight is real—but so is God’s mercy. Speak up before it grows. Stand with your brothers. Ask Our Lady to cover you. Go to Confession. Keep getting up.

I’m still in the fight—but I belong to Christ. And I refuse to give up.
Lets say you were sent to medieval europe. Would you enjoy or dislike the christian style?
