Aeroflot has announced a sale for the next two days. It is, of course, not as attractive as the recent one from Flyone, but you can still find some good prices.

For example, in November you can fly from Yerevan to Moscow for 116€, and from Moscow to Yerevan for 81€.

From St Petersburg to Yerevan tickets can be found for 67€, and in the opposite direction - from 124€.

From Yerevan to Sochi you can find from 70€, and from Sochi to Yerevan - from 50€. From Samara to Yerevan from 80€, and the other way round - from 105€.

There aren’t many tickets at these prices, so check your required dates and routes on the Aeroflot website. Direct payment there is possible only with a Russian bank card. If you don’t have this option, send me a private message and I’ll help.

✈️ Travellers!

If your trip doesn’t require immediate booking, don’t forget that Black Friday is coming soon. This year it falls on 28 November, but many airlines usually launch their sales a few days before the actual date.

For example, last year Belavia, Norwegian, Aegean, EasyJet, SkyExpress offered good discounts on tickets. FlyOne sold tickets with discounts of up to 30%, and Ryanair launched a promotion: buy 1 ticket, get the second 50% cheaper. A number of Russian carriers also joined in, as well as Etihad and Qatar.

💸 It’s quite possible that these airlines will come back with discounts again this year.

Cyprus Airways is running a winter sale — fares from 48€ one way. For example, you can fly from Larnaca to Athens at this price.

To Tel Aviv — from 54€, Beirut from 75€, Crete — from 79€, Dubai — from 150€ one way. If you book a return straight away, it should be cheaper.

According to information from our subscriber, today, 6 November, there was overbooking on Wizz Air flight W64565 from Larnaca to Yerevan. Around 15 passengers who had checked in in advance were denied boarding.

During online check-in, passengers received emails in which the airline invites them to volunteer to travel on a later flight if there are no seats on theirs. In return for agreeing, the company offers Wizz Air account credits of 100€. It appears the airline decided to economise here. In the event of overbooking and if a passenger has not agreed to volunteer in advance, EU rules require compensation of at least 250€.

Passengers on today’s flight to Yerevan were offered tickets for 10 November, as all tickets for 7, 8 and 9 November have been sold out. Hotel accommodation was also offered to passengers. No transfer was provided. A compensation claim must be submitted on the website.

If you find yourself in this situation:
1. Request written confirmation of denied boarding.
2. Keep all receipts (hotels, tickets, transfers, meals).
3. Insist on compensation for all incurred expenses.
4. If the company refuses compensation, contact Compensair.

As previously reported, the European Commission has approved changes concerning the rules for issuing Schengen visas to Russian citizens. From 7 November, most Russians will only be able to obtain single-entry visas.

Multiple-entry visas may be issued to: close relatives of EU citizens or of persons lawfully residing in EU countries. As a rule, for a period of up to 1 year, provided there have been three correctly used visas in the last 2 years. Multiple-entry visas will also be available to transport workers: seafarers, drivers of freight and passenger transport, and members of railway crews. In exceptional cases, at the consulate’s discretion.

Important: existing multiple-entry visas remain valid until their expiry. The new European Commission decision applies to applicants who reside in the Russian Federation and apply in the Russian Federation. If a Russian citizen is permanently resident abroad, obtaining a multiple-entry visa is theoretically possible.
