For the first time since 2012, the French flag is flying over the French embassy building in Damascus.

It is clear that the Europeans are more enthusiastic than the rebels in the race to normalize relations with the new Syrian government.

Ahmad al-Sharaa/Abu Muhammad al-Julani did his job well in the blitz of interviews with Western media outlets. It seems the path is open for him. He said exactly what needed to be said.
Now it remains to examine his actions.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson:
The new government in Syria will bear all of Syria's financial debts to Iran.

##
Good luck collecting the debt (:

Maybe it's worth sending the Iranian tax collectors to Moscow. Assad has more financial liquidity right now than the new regime in Syria...

##
It's really interesting that they use the border with Iraq as a reference point.

Syria: CNN reporter and the impersonator prisoner from Sednaya prison

A CNN reporter was admitted to Sednaya prison after the fall of the Assad regime and was awarded a "rare journalistic scoop" - during her visit, a poor prisoner in poor mental condition, named Adel Gharbal, was found, who had been abused in Sednaya prison by the guards...

After the broadcast, the truth became clear: it was a senior officer in the Assad regime's Syrian intelligence named Salameh Salameh, who himself abused prisoners in Sednaya prison.

The IDF spokesman cleared the name of the second soldier for publication, who fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip. May his memory a blessing.
Military correspondent Doron Kadosh publishes the full details of the incident in which the two reserve soldiers from Battalion 7107, the Nahal Engineering Battalion, were killed:

1. The fighters were directly hit by the collapse of the building they were staying in, in the Shaboura RC in Rafah, where Battalion 931 is currently operating. The building collapsed yesterday around 5:00 PM.

2. The circumstances of the collapse of the building are still being investigated, but the IDF says that it was a dilapidated structure. It was an old building, and it appears that one of the main reasons for its collapse was the frequent use of tanks and armored personnel carriers in the same area, which weakened the structure even more. Apparently, the building was not attacked by the Air Force in the past. The IDF also operated in the same building in the past, and as can be seen in all the documentation published from Rafah - there is hardly a single building left there that is not destroyed.

3. Inside the collapsed building were 4 fighters - two of whom were quickly rescued with moderate difficulty, and were safely evacuated to a hospital by a helicopter that landed inside the Gaza Strip in the area of the Philadelphi axis. The other two fighters, who were killed, were trapped in the rubble.

4. The rescue operations lasted for many hours - from 5:00 PM yesterday until early this morning, about 12 hours. Forces from the Home Front Command's rescue brigade operated at the scene. The two fighters were rescued lifeless - and all that remained was to declare their death.
Hamas in an official press statement:

Serious and positive talks are being held today in Doha (Qatar) under the auspices of mediators Qatar and Egypt, and there is a possibility of reaching a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement if the occupation stops adding new conditions.

##
What is unique about this statement: it is official and is considered very positive, relatively speaking, compared to previous statements.
It is not said "from sources" but is an official statement from the Hamas movement.

##
As I wrote a few days ago, indications of an imminent deal are strengthening. Hamas seems to be more flexible than before.
