🇷🇴(🇺🇦🇺🇸🇷🇺) Romanian interm president, Ilie Bolojan had declared this week that Romania will participate in the group that will monitor the 30 days armistice in Ukraine. He had also reinforced the the idea that Romania will NOT be sending troops to Ukraine as part of peacekeeping operation or any military operation. These were stated by him in Paris at the conference organised by French President Emmanuel Macron called "The Coalition of the Willing"

🇵🇱 Polish company Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) has started work on designing a new heavy IFV for the Polish army, based on the Krab SPG chassis

🇵🇱 The project was intially started in 2010 but was put on hold due to lack of funds. Now, with it's own resources, HSW decided to revive it

🇷🇴 Romanian Ministry of Economy has announced that they have won the rulings over the Victoria factory in Brasov county and will start investing into the modernization of the factory. Victoria is a powders factory, very needed in the defense industry. There is another such factory in Plopeni which is also set to produce TNT and RDX, while the Plopeni Mechanical Plant will produce 155mm shells compatible with NATO standards

🇷🇴🤝🇰🇷❓The South Korean company Hyundai Rotem, which is to supply Romania with K9 Thunder self propelled howitzers, has once again proposed to Romania K2 MBTs (built on the same principle as the K9s, first batch from South Korea and the rest built in Romania). This time, there's a bonus. It consists in investments from Hyundai regarding transportation infrastructure, ports, logistics and also to provide modern weaponry and ammunition to Romania. All of this would come as a package for Romania and would indeed be beneficial for everyone: South Koreans getting money out of it, prestige and another factory, Romanians getting investments, a boost in the defense industry and many jobs

🇷🇴Romanian interim president Ilie Bolojan wishes to further develop Romanian defense industry, both state owned and private. He wants the defense sector in Romania to probe the industry in Europe as a whole and see where it could have an advantage and make use of it, finding it's own niche (apart from the normal stuff it has to produce ofc) to ensure a constant flow of contracts from across the continent. He also says that a defense industry cooperation between Romania and Ukraine would be beneficial. He isn't constantly wrong since Ukraine, despite being at war for 3 years and contently getting bombed has managed to create quite a reputable defense industry. Romania, as I have said in the past, was also interested in a joint venture with Ukraine for the Neptune anti-ship missiles. Bolojan also stated that, after the NATO summit in June, there might be an increase of allied troops in Romania

🇷🇴🤝🇹🇷 Romania has allegedly signed a contract for a singular light corvette from Turkey of the Hisar class (an Offshore Patrol Vessel-OPV). This raises questions considering that the Romanian Naval Forces stated that it needs, alongside the refitting of existing ships, 2 OPVs and 3 frigates. Defense Romania rightfully reminds us that Romania has, with the help of Damen, the capabilities to build modern warships with the latest technology available for them. The Dutch navy had several ships built by Damen in Romania. The interim president also emphasised the need to revive the national defense industry. Thus, Romania acquiring only one OPV from Turkey is truly strange

"It is necessary to have a discussion about easing the sanctions regime against Russia. When you realize that you are weakening yourself more than your opponent, then you should reconsider whether what you are doing is right," said the Prime Minister of the German federal state of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, in a statement to the DPA agency.

He added that he could envision the beginning of a dialogue between Putin and the likely future German Chancellor Merz, but for that, Berlin would have to offer something to Moscow.
