Calling all LGBTQ+ Affirming Educators! We will be holding a session on using our "Gender Inclusive Schools" book on March 1st: Gender Inclusive Schools: Using the Text to Advocate in Your School Community. We've been thrilled to hear that many teachers and admin teams have already been using our book in discussion groups and PLCs across the world! This session will provide more information on using the book to engage with your collaborative teams.
This 90-minute-interactive session will provide teachers and school administrators with a framework for:
❖ using the “Gender Inclusive Schools” text to lead and facilitate a Professional Learning Community (PLC) or book study group
❖ using the reproducible resources from the text to implement systems-wide changes for supporting gender-expansive students in your school
❖ standardizing responses to challenging questions about LGBTQ+ inclusive practices and proactive education about gender-expansive identities source

If ICE Shows Up at Your Door, Know Your Rights!
Do NOT open the door. ICE does not have the right to enter your home without a valid warrant signed by a judge.
Remain calm. Don’t run and most importantly do not lie about your name, age, immigration status, etc. Anything you say or do can be used against you.
Do not sign anything. Ask to have documents translated. If you do not speak English ask for an interpreter. Have an attorney look over any documents that ICE gives you.
Make a family plan. If you have children, identify a caretaker.
Record. If you witness someone being detained by ICE, you have the right to record as long as you do not interfere with the arrest. Pictures, videos, and any information you can gather, can help verify an immigration raid and also help someone’s immigration case.

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.
If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.
Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
