Many people on here and in activist spaces believe that emotions are praxis. That feeling miserable, anxious, ashamed, never allowing yourself a moment’s peace or joy, is a legitimate force that propels meaningful action and sustainable efforts.
Your own misery doesn’t take away other people’s anymore than throwing out your slice of leftovers isn’t going to feed a hungry person somewhere else.
Wilful ignorance, or avoiding ANY negative emotions, fragility etc is obviously a problem. But that’s not what I’m referring to here.
Misery is not a virtue, it’s not a sustainable motivator, etc etc source

Not only should it be law that anything AI generated on the internet should be labelled as such but every website, app, and digital service should have a button I can click that removes any AI from my interactions with that site/service. I don't want your AI assistant I don't want your AI-generated ad copy I don't want this insidious little thing that has crept into so much of the internet that I can be using it without even realising or knowing. If you couldn't be bothered to have a human make it I can't be bothered to look at it sorry bye source

the big three questions of media analysis: what the author wanted to say, what they actually said, and what they didn’t know they were saying
Tumblr user clementine-kesh:
for the last one i don’t just mean oh the author inadvertently wrote in gay subtext or whatever i’m talking about media as a cultural artifact which can reveal a ton about societal norms, biases, ideals, etc. it’s all about positionality and an unexamined positionality is often the most revealing of all
Tumblr user pomrania:
This also heavily ties in to the concept of "all art is political", because even if something just portrays what the creator thinks is normal... "defining what is 'normal' and thus unquestioned" is the win condition for any political position. source

"One thing I wish people knew about auditory processing disorder was that when I ask you to repeat something, I need to you repeat the whole thing.
"If I hear "I ???? ????? my keys"
"And ask "what?"
So many people just respond with "my KEYS!"
"And I have to guess if they said "I need you to grab my keys" or "I already have my keys" or something else, or ask "what about them?"
"Which frequently annoys people and makes the conversation longer and more complicated than it needs to be.
PLEASE just repeat the whole sentence it saves everyone so much awkwardness and confusion

Image: An artistic story in three panels. A series of balls in stripes of various LGBTIQA+ Pride Flag designs during a heavy rain storm. LGBallT.
Panel 1: Two balls, a Non-Binary Pride Flag (yellow, white, purple, black), and an Agender Pride Flag (black, grey, white, light green, & reverse) are in a heavy rain storm.
Agender Pride says, "Wow, it's really coming down."
Panel 2: A Trans Pride Flag (light blue, light pink, white, & reverse) arrives, with a Trans Pride Flag umbrella with an LGBTIQA+ Pride Flag handle (red, orange, yellow, green blue, purple), and shelters all three of them.
Non-Binary Pride says, "Thanks for the umbrella, Trans!".
Panel 3: The heavy rain storm continues, and Trans Pride Flag ball continues to hold up the Trans Pride & LGBTIQA+ Pride umbrella as more and more balls arrive in various stages of water-damage.
Trans Pride says, "Of course! It's for all of us!"
