“I Never Stopped Loving My Child”: A Mom’s Story of Trans & Queer Acceptance
Raised Catholic in a small-town Midwest setting, RoxAnne Moore initially struggled when her son Cory first came out as a lesbian and later as a transgender man. Though she considered herself progressive and embracing of the LGBTQIA+ community, it felt a little different when it concerned her own child. Despite these challenges, her unwavering love for her child led her to join PFLAG and educate herself on LGBTQ+ issues. Through personal growth and lessons learned—like a comedically futile attempt to limit public displays of affection on a family vacation - RoxAnne proved herself to be more than a loving mother - but a loyal ally as well.

Gay Christian Learns to Reconcile his Faith and Sexuality. “God Made Me the Way that I Am.”
Growing up in a conservative, Christian household in Sebring, Florida, Cameron Reck was still closeted in college. He was on his very first date with a man when he was caught in a lie with his best friend, which sparked a panic attack in the bathroom. After dry heaving, sweating, and difficulty breathing, Cameron left the bathroom knowing one thing for sure: It was time to stop the lie and come out to his best friend.
Over an emotional dinner, Cameron confided in Lizzie about his sexuality, preparing for the worst. Instead, Lizzie embraced him wholeheartedly and, a week later, handed him a book that would change his life: “Torn: Rescuing the Gospel from the Gay-vs.-Christian Debate.” For the first time, Cameron saw a path to reconcile his faith with his identity, empowering him to live authentically as both a gay man and a person of deep faith. source

Gender-Affirming Care Leads Trans Woman From Sex Work & Prison to Motherhood, Marriage, and a Career
When Tabytha Gonzalez first encountered the Ballroom scene in 1990s New York City, it was the first time she’d ever seen trans women. She quickly recognized herself in them and began to take whatever steps necessary to live authentically. It being the 90s, employment options for trans women were few, so Tabytha ultimately turned to sex work. Sadly, Tabytha’s work and circumstances within the prison system led her to a long period of incarceration in a men’s prison. source

Trump’s Executive Order to redefine "sex" attempts to erase the existence of transgender and intersex people in order to further the administration’s own ideological agenda.
In a vague and unenforceable bid to redefine gender with reference to binary “sex,” the Executive Order refers only to the categories of male and female, defined by the production of reproductive cells “at conception.”
This bizarre formulation misunderstands embryonic development. At fertilization, every embryo has undifferentiated gonadal tissue that will not become testes or ovaries until sex differentiation occurs several weeks later. No embryo produces reproductive cells at conception. source

Enjoying peaceful solitude in the snowy trails of the Rattlesnake in Missoula, Montana. So much going on in the world… nature is always how I center myself again.

For a long time, I've gone to Great Falls and the Billy Goat Trail in Maryland to clear my mind. The most magical time is after a big snow, when the trails are quiet.
It was so gorgeous today. source

Got to join my wife Zooey Zephyr for her swearing in today on day 1 of the Montana legislature.
I was so happy to be at her side, and I know how much she cares about the work ahead.
I’ll be there at her side always, for her, for our community, and for all the people who depend on us.
