It’s hard to keep up, but worth paying attention to the daily nonsense coming out of the federal government. Calling a student by the name and pronoun they ask you to use is a basic human decency with zero negative consequences. The “ENDING RADICAL INDOCTRINATION IN K-12 SCHOOLING” executive order is hysterical propaganda, and is nothing but a vague threat to local education agencies. Do not pre-comply. source

Intersex people have existed since the beginning of time and will exist until the end of time. Variety is a beautiful part of human biology, and that includes all people with variations in their sex traits.
No law, executive order, judge or advocate of pseudoscience can erase us. Nor should we hide ourselves in anticipation of being erased.
Their goal is to conceal any existence outside of an impossibly narrow sex binary. Our existence is resistance. Through community, through advocacy, and through visibility we carry on!

The executive order states that 'female' means a person belonging, 'at conception,' to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell. 'Male' is defined as those who peoduce the small reproductive cell. The Health and Human Services Department is ordered to provide guidance expanding on these definitions, and all agencies are expected to enforce statutes and regulations in alignment with these meanings.
'Unfortunately, the attempt to legislate that everyone in the world falls into two neat categories does not reflect biological reality," said Sean Tipton, chief advocacy and policy officer at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, in an emailed statement. 'There are thousands of Americans whose chromosomes, external genitalia, and reproductive capacity to not match with some politician's notion of how the world should be.' source

For everyone of us US Folks that are going to have to live through the next four years of hell, I just want to remind you that it's perfectly understandable to invest in any and every one of your offline interests going forward.
Doomscrolling the next four years of our lives isn't going to help us at all, especially with TikTok essentially becoming a right-wing leaning platform overnight and Meta doing whatever they can to fall in line with Trump. Invest in yourself and your people (friends, family) by investing in your own offline interests and hobbies.
Create that small little comfort zone and world that'll help you and your people get through the next four years. Buy your favorite movies (physically!), buy more books (physically!), rebuy those childhood consoles or video games you no longer have, build up a stock of LEGOs to build or collect whatever it is that'll help bring you a sense of joy and escapism. source
