I think the use of gen ai prevents students from learning the crucial skills of bluffing and winging it. When I was in high school and forgot to do a book report, I'd just yap through the oral examination and get a 7+. This is an important life skill, don't pass up the chance to improve your yapping by using ai.

Okay, but seriously? Being able to improv your way through something is a skill. It requires you to know your material, and also be able to put together coherent thoughts on very short notice. Even if you don't think you remember enough, chances are that the heightened state of awareness your panic is going to throw you in will help you access things you didn't realize you'd picked up. Yes, it's also important to be able to do things ranging from literary analysis to communicating your thoughts with some preparation and forethought, but don't discount how useful it is to able to deal with curveballs in the moment. source
