Back then, as today, the voice of the nation was the radical and nationalist-spirited passionate youth. They were called "provocateurs" and "extremists" for their desire to act not with songs and dances, but with force. That day, a fire ignited in their hearts. The same fire that gave strength to our ancestors on the march to Constantinople. The same fire that burned the Khazar Khaganate. The same fire that fueled the Cossacks' thirst for freedom.
It was a fierce youth, a tough youth, that opposed any agreements with the authorities. Fearless of arrests, pain, or death, it was the "provocateurs" who were at the forefront, both on Bankova Street, on Hrushevskoho, on Shovkovychna, and on Instytutska. It was they who defended the interests of the Ukrainian nation by force. They were the true driving force of the Revolution!
