المحاضرة الرابعة عشر لمادة الحديث

عَنْ أَنَسٍ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم؛ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ؟ قَالَ: ‏"‏وَمَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَها؟‏"‏ قَالَ: حُبَّ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ. قَالَ: ‏"‏فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ ‏"‏. قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَمَا فَرِحْنَا بَعْدَ الإِسْلاَمِ فَرَحًا أَشَدَّ مِنْ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم: ‏"‏فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ ‏"‏. قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَأَنَا أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، فَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ مَعَهُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ أَعْمَلْ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ.



A Bedouin came to the Prophet and asked him about the timing of the day of judgment. The prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم instructed him that what’s more important than the timing of the day of judgment is how much he is prepared and ready for that day.

He explained to him that the important question is how much actions and righteous deeds he has done to be ready for the day.


The prophet is teaching us that we should stay away from such questions and we should focus our questions on things that’s important in our life and in our religion.
Some of these questions that are important include questions about how to pray the way the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was praying, how to fast, how to be a good Muslim, how to take care of our parents, how to raise our kids, which actions are the most beloved to Allah, what are the best time for making supplications, how to follow the guidance of the prophet and such on..

Everyone should be working very hard every day to get closer and closer to Allah by increasing the number and the quality of the righteous acts everyday.

Questions:

1. Being with someone in the Jenna does that mean your rewards will be identical to their rewards??

Lesson 15

فضيلة الدكتور / طارق زكريا

السّلام عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكاتُه 
إِنَّ الحمدَ لله، نحمده ونستعينه ونستهديه ونستغفره، ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ومن سيِّئات أعمالنا.

من يهده الله فهو المُهتد، ومن يضلِل فلا هادي له، وأشهدُ أَنْ لا إله إلّا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهدُ أَنَّ محمّدًا عبده و رسوله.

اللّهمّ اشرح لي صدري، ويسِّر لي أمري، واحلل عقدة من لساني يفقهوا قولي.

اللّهمّ لا سهل إلّا ما جعلته سهلًا ، وأنت تجعل الحزَن إذا شئت سهلًا.


My beloved brothers and sisters, In Sha Allah we will continue with our Hadith section:

This Hadith for today:

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ رد»

And this Hadith is
مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْه.

A’isha reported; Allah’s messenger said: “If anyone introduces into this affair of ours anything which does not belong to it, it is rejected.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

‏ The overall meaning of this Hadith is that any kind, type or form of worship that is not based on authentic proof from the book of Allah, or guidance of the prophet Mohammed, is not valid, will not be accepted and it will be rejected.

The points that we can learn of the Hadith:
- This Hadith is one of the main foundation on which the knowledge of our Islam is based on.

It is one of the three most important Hadiths we have.

These three Hadiths tell us the conditions in which our actions and worships will be accepted and we will be rewarded for on the day of judgement.

The first Hadith is the Hadith of intention that we discussed before during lesson # 1.

That Hadith told us that the first condition of any worships to be accepted is to have full sincerity seeking the pleasure of Allah and his rewards in the hereafter. It’s very important to remember that Allah will not accept any worship if it is not based on an intention seeking his pleasure and rewards in the hereafter not in this life.
The second condition for any worship to be accepted is in this Hadith. It teaches us that any worship should be based on a proof coming from the Koran or the guidance of the prophet Muhammad.

Any new addition, innovation, or changes to the teaching of the prophet on how to perform the worship Will make this worship invalid. It will not be accepted in the sight of Allah.

In another world we cannot choose how we can worship Allah; but instead we have to follow the teaching of Allah and his prophet on how to perform the worship.

These two conditions are summarized in the statement of:
‏
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلّا الله، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ الله.

The statement of:

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلّا الله

means: you acknowledge that any worship should be intended only for the sake of Allah, and his pleasure, and rewards in the hereafter.

The statement of:

‏أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ الله.


means: that we are a follower of the prophet Muhammad in everything; including the way he was performing his worships to Allah.
The second point: the addition, innovation , or changes of any worships; can involve changing the type, the time, the place, and the form of the worship.

We will give a few examples to explain some of these changes and innovations.

An example of a change:

Are innovation of the timing of the worship is to decide to pray Asar early in the morning or Fajar at night.

Another example is to perform Hajj outside the month of hajj! creating a new timing of the worship that’s not based on any proof from the book or the Sunnah.

These changes in the timing of the worship will invalidate the whole worship and will not be accepted.

An example of changing of the worship is to perform hajj in different place than Mecca or to be facing different direction than Qibla when you are praying. Of course these kind of changes will render your worship completely invalid.

An example of changing or creating innovation in the form of the worship; is to pray five Rakkats instead of four for the prayer of Alzahrr or Asar, or to fast more than 30 days of Ramadan by fasting the day before or day after or to give less than 2.

5% of your money as Zakat.

All of these changes in the form of our worships would make your worship invalid and will be not accepted.

- an example of changing or creating innovation is to create new worships that we dont have a proof on.

For example celebrating the birthday of the prophet Muhammad, sitting in a circle and doing a loud Zakar, or standing up and dancing while remembering Allah is all new forms of worships that has no basis in our religion and won’t be accepted on the day of judgement.

We ask Allah SWT to benefit us all from what we heard.

سُبحانَكَ اللّهمّ وَبِحَمْدِك، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا أَنْت، أستغفرُكَ وَأتوب إِلَيْك.

Lesson 14 Hadith

This Hadith for today:
