• Lesson 14 Islamic Tarbeia


• We will mention the Hadith ofThe Prophetﷺ where he said: حديث ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه حيث قال:قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إذا صلَّتِ المرأةُ خَمْسَها، وصامَت شهرَها، وحصَّنَتْ فرجَها، وأطاعَت زوجَها، قيلَ لها: ادخُلي الجنَّةَ مِن أيِّ أبوابِ الجنَّةِ شِئتِ"

• So, what is she supposed to be doing in order to be given the privilege of choosing the gate that she wants so she can enter Al-Jannah?The Prophetﷺmentioned (أربع وصايا)four things that he advised : (الصلاة، الصيام، العفة، وطاعة الزوج)Let's go over each one of them

• The first one is: ١- (الصلاة) Prayer
What is he referring to?ﷺ(الصلاة المكتوبة مع الحفاظ على أوقاتها)Is the obligation Salah while preserving the prescribed time for each one of them

• The second one: ٢-الصيام
He saidﷺafter (صلت خمسها)(وصامت شهرها)(and fasted her month)What month? Obviously this is the month of Ramadan

• The third one:٣-العفة
That is where he saidﷺ:(وحصنت فرجها)Meaning( she protected her private part) والفرج يطلق على القبل والدبر(Alfarj) الفَرْجincludes the private parts (the back and the front)

٤- طاعة الزوجوأطاعت زوجها:
And then the fourth thing that Allah عزوجل mentioned(and look how the hadith combines between the rights of Allahعزوجلand the rights of the husband to show you the importance of the relationship between both of them as we mentioned at the beginning of this section of the rights of the husband:That is the right of the husband is one of the most important rights after the rights of Allahعزوجل

• ) طاعة الزوج فيما يتعلق بحقوقه المشروعة

• It is(من باب الترهيب والترغيب)This is as we will see

• حديث أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه:أظن حديث أبي هريرةAnd Allah knows best) )قال رسول الله ﷺ: "(وَأُرِيتُ النَّارَ فَلَمْ أَرَ مَنْظَرًا كَالْيَوْمِ قَطُّ أَفْظَعَ

• (وَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا النِّسَاءَ)

• And I saw that most of the dwellers of the hellfireوالعياذ باللهare women

• (قالوا(Meaning(the Companions) and that could include- in one of the narrations – companion women from the women that were in the time of the Prophetﷺ

• They asked him ﷺ:(بِمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟)Meaning What is the reason, why most of the people of the hellfire are from women?)He repliedﷺHe said : (بِكُفْرِهِنَّ) والكفر Here does not mean the majorكفرthat will take you outside of الملةthat will take you outside the fold of Al-Islam

• (وَيَكْفُرْنَ الإِحْسَانَ)And they deny the good things

• Then he saidﷺ:"لَوْ أَحْسَنْتَ إِلَى إِحْدَاهُنَّ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ"If you were to show goodness to one of them all the timeالدهر كله، الزمن كلهall the time "ثُمَّ رَأَتْ مِنْكَ شَيْئًا"Then, she sees one bad thing from you, she will say: "I have never seen anything good from you

• This is again an authentic hadith in Bukhari and Muslim;so we cannot deny the hadith of the Prophetﷺ.

Questions:

1.What is she supposed to be doing in order to be given the privilege of choosing the gate that she wants so she can enter Al-Jannah?

2.Prophet Mohammed saw that most of the dwellers of the hellfireوالعياذ باللهare women..Why?

Lesson 15:
فضيلة الشيخ / عبدالقادر جواد
°•°•°•°•°
‏بسم الله
‏والحمد لله، ‏ولا إلهَ إلّا الله وحدَه لا شَريكَ له، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ محمّدًا عبدُهُ وَرَسولُه صَلّى الله عليهِ وسَلَّم.
أَمّا بعد،
السّلامُ عليْكُم وَرحمة الله تعالى وَبَرَكاته.
°•°•°•°•°
 
The last Hadith that we stopped at was the first Hadith that talks about the warnings that our (شريعة) gave to the wife that does not fulfil the rights of her husband.
 
So, let’s go quickly over the Hadith, and then we’ll highlight the most important points in it, and then we will continue with the warnings for those wives that do not fulfil the rights of their husbands.
 
And (إن شاء الله) we’ll do our best to finish the rights of the husband today, and then next time we meet we will start with the rights of the wife.
 
The Hadith is mentioned in Al-Sahehain:
‏قالَ رَسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وَسَلّم:
‏("وَأُريتُ النّارَ، فلَم أَرَ منظرًا كَاليومِ قَطُّ أَفظَع، وَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِها النِّساء"، قالوا: بِمَ يا رَسولَ الله؟ قالَ: "بِكُفْرِهِنّ"، قيل: يَكْفُرْنَ بِالله؟! قالَ: "يَكْفُرْنَ العَشير، وَيَكْفُرْنَ بالإِحسان، لَوْ أَحْسَنْتَ إلى إِحْداهِنّ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّه ثُمّ رَأَت مِنْكَ شَيْئًا قالَت ما رأيتُ منك خيرًا قطّ!")..
 
So in this Hadith the prophet (ﷺ) said: "I was shown the hellfire, and I have never seen something that horrible, something that is gruesome, and awful than that, and I saw that most of the dwellers of the hellfire (والعِياذُ بِالله) were women!".
Then he was asked (ﷺ): for what reason oh messenger of Allah?
He said: "because of their disbelief."
(كفر)
And we will explain what the exact meaning of (كُفر) here in this Hadith.
Then he was asked the question (ﷺ) one more time, is that because they disbelieve in Allah?!
He replied (ﷺ): "no, they disbelieve in their (ashir)"
والعَشير هُنا بِمَعنى الزَّوج
Ashir here meaning the husband; their partner; their companion.
 
"وَيَكْفُرْنَ الإِحسان".
So (يكْفُرْنَ العشير) meaning (يَكْفُرْنَ إحسانَ العَشير).
They deny and they do not give recognition, they do not acknowledge the goodness of their husbands.
"وَيَكْفُرْنَ الإحسان".
And they do not appreciate the good things that their husbands did for them.
Then he said (ﷺ): "if you were to do good to one of them all the time", and here
(الدَّهرَ كُلَّه)
جاءَ هذا الْأَمْر على صيغة المُبالَغة في الإِحْسان.
This is just to show the abundance in being good to their wives.
Meaning they have done a lot of good things for their wives; a lot of good deeds for them. And yet as soon as you do something bad, they will tell you we have never seen anything good from you!
 
And this is...
الشّاهِد في الحَديث،
The reason why the Hadith is mentioned is that because of this denial and the nonrecognition of the goodness of the husband, they ended up entering the hellfire.
والعِياذُ بِالله.

I would like to add something here which is one of us may come across an authentic Hadith in Sahih Muslim
حديث أبو هُرَيْرَة رَضِيَ الله عنه
Where the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
The man in the lowest level in Al-Jannah of paradise, he will have two wives from the Dunya.
And then you would say how come? Which means two third of Al-Jannah will be from women!
Our scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, answered that confusion for us, there is no contradiction in the two Hadiths, why?
 
Because he (ﷺ) might have referred to that regarding how many there will be in Al-Jannah, because that means after they came out of the hellfire
والعِياذُ بِالله.
The second argument is that the prophet (ﷺ) was shown the hellfire before the paradise.
And Allah knows best.

The second warning for the wife that does not fulfil the rights of the husband is:
سبب في عدم قبول الصّلاة
The non-fulfilment of the husband's right would be a reason for the prayer of the wife not to be accepted.
What is the (دليل)?
Hadith of the prophet (ﷺ) narrated by, or mentioned by
ابن خُزَيْمة وَصَحَّحَهُ الأَلْبانِيُّ رَحِمَهُ الله:
قالَ رَسولُ الله صلّى الله عليه وَسَلّم:

(ثَلاثَةٌ لا تُقْبَلُ مِنْهُم صلاة، وَلا تَصعَدُ إلى السّماء، وَلا تُجاوِزُ رُؤوسَهُم وَذَكَرَ مِنْهُم وامرَأَةٌ دَعاها زَوْجُها مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَبَت عَلَيْه).
 
The Prophet (ﷺ) said in this Hadith: three types of people, their prayer will not be accepted from them, and it will not rise until it reaches the heaven and does not go beyond their heads.
And one of those three he said (ﷺ): a woman that her husband asks her to have intimacy with him at night and then she denies him, or she refuses.
And this is again a serious warning. You do not want to jeopardize your prayer by denying your husband or refusing what he is asking you for.

The third warning is the anger of Allah (عز وجل).
When the wife does not fulfil the rights of her husband, indeed she is exposed to the anger and to the wrath of Allah (عز وجل).
And the (دليل) is well established in 'Sahih Muslim':
‏قالَ رَسولُ اللهِ صلّى الله عليه وَسَلّم: (والّذي نفسي بِيَدِه، ما مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَدعو امرَأَتَهُ إِلى فِراشِها فَتَأْبى عَلَيْه إِلّا كانَ الّذي في السّماءِ ساخِطًا عَلَيْها حَتّى يَرْضى عَنْها).
It is a clear statement, clear Hadith, no confusion.
The prophet (ﷺ): "by whom my soul is in his hands" and he is referring to Allah (عز وجل).
*Because Allah (عز وجل) is the one in control of the souls.
سبحانه وتعالى
 
"There is no man who would invite his wife to her bed and then she declines"
She denies him, she refuses.
"But the one who is in the heaven"
And here it could mean two things, as the scholars of the Hadith, may Allah have mercy on them, explained to us:
1- One could be the angels.
2- And second could be Allah (عز وجل).
 
And the second one is closer to be the most correct one, and Allah knows best.
 
As Allah (عز وجل) said in the Quran in Surat Al-Mulk:
بَعدَ أَعوذُ بِالله مِنَ الشّيطان الرّجيم
{أَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي السَّمَاءِ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الْأَرْضَ}..
 
And that is Allah (عز وجل).
And that is the second opinion which could be the most correct.
والله أعْلَم.
 
So, the woman who does not accept the invitation of her husband to the bed, the one who is in the heaven will be angry with her until the husband is pleased with her.
This is the third warning which is the anger of Allah (عز وجل).

The last warning, we will mention (إن شاء الله),
it is a Hadith, but different narration that we mentioned a while ago:
حديث النّبيّ ﷺ مِنَ الصَّحيحَيْن بُخاري وَمُسْلِم:
 
It will be exposed to the woman, the wife who denies her husband will be exposed to the curse of the angels
والعِياذُ بِالله..
 
قالَ رَسولُ الله صلّى الله عليه وَسَلّم: (إذا باتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ مُهاجِرَةٌ فِراشَ زَوْجِها لَعَنَتْها الْمَلائِكَةُ حَتَّى تَرْجِع).
The prophet ﷺ said:
(إذا باتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ مُهاجِرَةٌ)
And again, if you recall we spoke about the term:
باتَتْ مِنَ البَيْتوتة
that means during the night; ok.
However, this ruling it contains the day and the night, it includes the day and the night.
So, we cannot say 'well, since this is just regarding the night, so if the husband invites his wife to share the bed with him during the day and she refuses, she thinks that she is fine; no'.
The scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, said that statement includes both day and night.
(إذا باتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ مُهاجِرَةٌ فِراشَ زَوْجِها)
If she is away from the bed of her husband and she does not want to share it with him.
(لَعَنَتها المَلائكة)
The (ملائكة), the angels will curse her until she goes back to her husband.
And as you could hear and you could see, this is serious when it comes to not fulfilling the rights of the husband.

We said, we mentioned:
 
1\ The first danger is to be admitted to the hellfire (والعِياذُ بِالله) because of not fulfilling those rights.
 
2\ The second one was the prayer will not be accepted.
 
3\ And the third one it will be exposed to the wrath and the anger of Allah (عز وجل).
 
4\ And the fourth one will be the curse of the (ملائكة), of the angels as we said before.
That means the (ملائكة) will be making Doa’a against her, asking Allah (عز وجل) to send his curse upon her or upon them.

And that is the curse which is to be cast out or away from the mercy of Allah (عز وجل).

With this we will conclude the rights of the husband.
And (إن شاء الله) next time we meet we will start with the rights of the women, and technically the rights of the women are two major types:
1- One type it has to do with the financial rights...
2- And the second type of rights it is the non-financial rights...
 
And we asked Allah (عز وجل) to give us the benefits of what we learned.
And we ask him (سبحانه وتعالى) to give us sincerity and help us understand our (Deen) the way it pleases him.
 
We ask him (سبحانه وتعالى) to help us implement what we learned in a way that is obedient to him.
We ask him (سبحانه وتعالى) to give us the success in this Dunya and in the hereafter.
 
May Allah (عز وجل) bless our wives and may Allah (عز وجل) bless the husbands of our sisters and our women.

In this we finish (إن شاء الله).
 
أَقولُ قَوْلي هذا وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ الله لي وَلَكُم فاستَغفِروه إِنَّهُ غفورٌ رَحيم.
جزاكُم الله خَيْرًا.
والسّلام عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ الله .

• Lesson 15: Tarbiya

• The Hadith is mentioned in Al-Sahehain:‏قالَ رَسولُ الله صلى الله عليه وَسَلّم:‏("وَأُريتُ النّارَ، فلَم أَرَ منظرًا كَاليومِ قَطُّ أَفظَع، وَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِها النِّساء"، قالوا: بِمَ يا رَسولَ الله؟ قالَ: "بِكُفْرِهِنّ"، قيل: يَكْفُرْنَ بِالله؟! قالَ: "يَكْفُرْنَ العَشير، وَيَكْفُرْنَ بالإِحسان، لَوْ أَحْسَنْتَ إلى إِحْداهِنّ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّه ثُمّ رَأَت مِنْكَ شَيْئًا قالَت ما رأيتُ منك خيرًا قطّ!")

• The prophet ﷺ said:(إذا باتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ مُهاجِرَةٌ)And again, if you recall we spoke about the term:باتَتْ مِنَ البَيْتوتةthat means during the night.

• (إذا باتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ مُهاجِرَةٌ فِراشَ زَوْجِها)If she is away from the bed of her husband and she does not want to share it with him
