RT2800 is the second of three phases before asynchronous backing can be enabled on Moonbeam mainnet.
With async backing enabled Moonbeam block times will speed up from 12s to 6s. This update will also inherent increase transaction throughput 2x in the process 🤯

At approximately 10:27 am UTC today, a Polkadot runtime upgrade was enacted, which triggered all parachains, including Moonbeam, to stop producing blocks for approximately 1 hour.
Moonbeam resumed block production at approximately 11:36 am UTC. At this time, the network is operating normally. We are waiting on incident details from the Polkadot core dev team and will share more information at a later time.

SDK Upgrades and XCM Enhancements: The upgrade to Polkadot SDK 1.7.2 promises smoother integration and improved features across various pallets. Furthermore, we've added a crucial safety measure to pause XCM message processing during halted block production, protecting our network from potential spam attacks.

We are happy to announce that the Moonbeam Odyssey Program is currently on the way!!! As we're looking forward to a new phase of Moonbeam, we want to identify the most capable, trusted, and skilled individuals who will join the Moonbeam Odyssey Program.
By participating in the Moonbeam Odyssey Program Trials, you have the opportunity to:

👉 Join forces with other innovative contributors, forge valuable connections that will last beyond the Trials
