Maxime Bernier: a decision soon.

Maxime Bernier is considering whether to run in the federal riding of Beauce. The leader of the People's Party of Canada (PPC) spoke to L'Éclaireur Progrès on the subject.

"I'm a Beauceron! You can take a Beauceron out of the Beauce, but you can't take the Beauce out of a Beauceron," he declares when asked why he wants to put his name on the ballot. He adds that he has family - his father lives in the region - and many friends and acquaintances in Beauce.

Mr. Bernier lives, with his wife, in the Montreal area. But he assures us that, if elected, he would return to live here. "As I said during the last election, I would move back to Beauce.

According to the PPC leader, his political party has around 500 members in the riding. Mr. Bernier affirms that the PPC has a solid electoral platform and stands out from other federal political parties.

Border security and immigration control are two of the issues he wants to raise. "What we're proposing [election platform] should satisfy Trump's demands," he maintains.

What's more, he claims to be the only politician in a position to combat "wokism", which he describes as climate hysteria, the cult of diversity, gender ideology and the sexualization of children.

Maxime Bernier will be in the region shortly for private meetings to get a feel for the riding. Following this visit, he will be in a position to announce his intentions regarding whether or not he will run in the Beauce riding.

Let's tell the Debates Commission what we think about changing the rules to exclude Max.

I will post instructions in a pinned tweet on Friday night.
