وقد روى (الإمام أحمد) في "مسنده" عن ابن عباس، أنه قيل له: "ما بال المسافر يُصَلِّي ركعتين في حال الانفِراد، وأربعاً إذا يأتم بمقيم؟ فقال: تلك السُنَّةُ"؛ وقوله: السنة؛ المقصود بها سنة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
