Finnish Kalevalaic folk-poetry glossary says juutas = Jew, evil being.

In modern Finnish, Judas is Juutas in certain dialects that stubbornly reject the letter D.

September, the ninth and sacred month was once called Hāliġmōnaþ or Hāliȝmōnaþ in OE – the Holy Month. Bede described the month as saying ‘Halegh-monath is a month of sacredness’. The OE poem Menologium seu Calendarium Poeticum described the month as a ‘holy month, because our ancestors, when they were heathen, sacrificed to their idols in that month’.

The next full moon will be 3.34am on the 18th September (so the night of the 17th). This will be a blot or holy-moon, also called a harvest or wood-moon.

Recently Got to see some Prairie Dogs for the First Time, The critters are more endearing than I thought they would be.

We must protect them, these clever rodents, until they soon enter the stone age and inevitably become our Tiny Mechanics and Potato Gatherers. Or at least a fun little intelligent species to interact with.
