was an English playwright. However, of his 38 plays 13 take place in Italy 🇮🇹.
🌐 ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is set in Verona. ‘Julius Caesar’ takes place in Rome. Venice is the site for ‘Othello’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice’.
❗️There's no recorded proof that Shakespeare ever visited Italy. But, as you see, he was an excellent expert on the country.
