There was a three cold months period in Saint-Petersburg, shortly speaking - winter...
โ Sometimes it was difficult to survive when it's -25ยฐC outside...but we perfectly did it and now we are ready for warmer days (we were ready anytime during winter, right?)
๐ Spring is now our reality and it is getting warmer and warmer! Now, we can even see sun nearly every day, and it is going to be better, believe us!
๐ To dive into this new season atmosphere we are going to have our Speaking Club where we will discuss our spring spare time preferences!
๐ We will also share some really nice and cozy places like coffee shops and parks where you can spend some good time with your friends!
๐ท Waiting for you to spend an entertaining evening in our club and discuss this beautiful time of the year!

๐ Maslenitsa week is definitely known as a week of fun time, "blinchiki" and "blini", but if we look at the history, we will see that it is much more than that and celebrated for a very long period of time, starting from pagan times.
๐ For pagans Maslenitsa was held on spring equinox day (when the day and the night are equal) which marked the beginning of warm times (Spring), and the end of cold (Winter).
๐๏ธ With time the religion in Russia changed but the tradition of celebrating Maslenitsa stayed even when the Christianity as the main faith. It adapted and became a week before Lent when people could have fun and eat as much as they wanted to.
