A long time ago, birds that would eventually become penguins had wings that were suited for flying. Over time, these wings changed and became better for swimming instead of flying.

📌 As penguins spent more time in the water, their bodies adapted to this new environment. Their wings became flippers, which are perfect for swimming and diving.

Eventually, it became too much work for penguins to try to fly, so they stopped trying. Instead, they focused on becoming amazing swimmers!

📌 Bark keeps trees safe from drying out, freezing, and pests. A special layer called cambium helps trees grow by forming new bark and wood.Inner bark layers move nutrients from leaves to roots, fruits, and flowers.

Damage to the bark can kill a healthy tree by leaving it vulnerable to pests, cold, and heat.
