Last Update:
Begging the government to prosecute when a CEO does crime
I'd posted about a month ago about Elise Burns, the CEO of Evette staffing, a veterinary staffing agency. Evette had sent out an email last month admitting to stealing a veterinarian's identity in order to spy on us in private DVM-only groups, and has been for the past 8 years. Admins for the groups she's defrauded have all handed over evidence and contacted as many agencies as possible that could have jurisdiction over her crimes, and it's been nothing but crickets. The founder of the private suicide prevention group that Elise Burns fraudulently spied on in order to gain a business advantage contacted the Texas Attorney General, who told her that "showing that there is public interest in pursuing a case is a factor in their decision making."
Nice double standard, huh? When a CEO commits multiple crimes against the working class, we have to beg and plead for the government to do their damn jobs. They've been spoon-fed the evidence of Elise's maleficence, yet aren't making a move. Apparently, if you run a 34 million dollar per year business, the state doesn't give a shit about the people you've fed off of like a parasite.
There's a change.org petition circulating right now to try to guilt the TX AG's office into doing the right thing. I fully don't expect anything to come from it, but if we can get thousands more names on there, it will help starkly contrast how there's a two-tiered justice system that clearly doesn't benefit us.
