With Bitcoin down 30% in the past week, some crypto traders have taken to Telegram to “voice” their feelings. With the sharp downturn in the crypto market, yelling has become a coping mechanism for many crypto traders. This screaming therapy became popular after the surge of Goblintown Ethereum NFTs at the end of May or early June. Here, holders made incoherent groaning sounds in late-night Twitter spaces. They also role-played as urine-loving Goblin creatures. Earlier, crypto enthusiasts had created a self-described “meme app” dubbed “gm” app wherein users would greet each other with “gm” or “good morning” messages. However, in September 2021, the gm app was down after a hacker reportedly gained access to the user data. Deputy District Judge Peter Hui sentenced computer technician Ng Man-ho on Thursday, a month after the 27-year-old, who ran a Telegram group called SUCK Channel, was found guilty of seven charges of conspiring to incite others to commit illegal acts during the 2019 extradition bill protests and subsequent months. Although some crypto traders have moved toward screaming as a coping mechanism, several mental health experts call this therapy a pseudoscience. The crypto community finds its way to engage in one or the other way and share its feelings with other fellow members.
