On Armenia-Greece and Armenia-Greece-Cyprus defence consultations and cooperation
The recent trilateral defence consultations in Athens marked a significant step in strengthening Armenia-Greece-Cyprus cooperation. The 2025 defence programs emphasize joint military exercises, expertise sharing, advisory support, and capacity-building, reflecting systematic, long-term collaboration and new defence standards.
This partnership counters the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, addressing Turkey's aggressive policies and Azerbaijan's expansionist ambitions in the Eastern Mediterranean and South Caucasus. Institutionalizing cooperation through regular consultations, integrated planning, and military-technical innovation enhances collective security and strategic autonomy.
By leveraging shared geopolitical interests and fostering interoperability, this cooperation will advance the transformation of Armenia's Armed Forces with Greek and Cypriot support.
