📌Ordinary

• Abstaining from food, drink and intimacy.

📌Elite

• Protecting the eyes from looking at haram and anything
which takes you away from the remembrance of Allah.

• Protecting the tongue from lying, backbiting, arguing and
foul language etc.

• Protecting the ears from listening to harām.

• Protecting the rest of your body from harām.

• Not eating to your fill at ifṭār time.

• Hoping that Allah will accept your fast, and at the same
time fearing that your fast may not be accepted.

📌Super-Elite

• Abstaining from worldly thoughts and concerns, and
everything other than Allah.

Hence, we must be especially careful to guard ourselves from all kinds of sin while we are fasting. We should abandon unbeneficial speech, specifically arguing and debating with others. If anyone tries to argue with us while we are fasting, we should simply respond by saying we are fasting and leave them
