پلنگ ایرانی در پی شکارهای غیرقانونی از گونه های در حال انقراض در ایران است، که در سالهای گذشته فعالان محیط زیست از سازمان محیط زیست خواسته اند تا با تدوین برنامه ای جامعی برای حفاظت از این گونه ارزشمند، کمک کنند تا بخشی از خسارت پلنگ به دامهای اهلی را نیز جبران شود.
