About imagination…

There’s a reason why in schools all creative subjects have been reduced to the bear minimum and that is because those subjects foster imagination and imagination is the fuel of dreams and dreams are the beginning of inspiration and inspiration is the start of creation and that is how things come into being. But you see, it is their dystopian dream that they want us to create, not ours.

The first thing the educational system does is kill all forms of creativity, curiosity and imagination from children. We are all born with an abundance of it, but by the time the indoctrination machine spits us out, there’s hardly anything left in most people.

The biggest problem we face in effecting change, is precisely people’s inability to imagine that a very different future is possible.

We need to start envisioning it, imagining it, dreaming it, feeling it, writing about it, talking about it, singing about it and looking forward to it. Only we, can individually and collectively make it happen.

Our role is not to destroy the existing, our role is to start creating the new, so let’s put humanity back into humans and create the world we must dream of.

Let’s finally understand that we can only thrive through cooperation, that we musn’t worry about the global when we all take care of our own local, that it is possible to create better systems that benefit all, that scarcity is an illusion created to keep us in competition, that we in fact live in the most abundant planet in this universe, that nobody should go hungry or cold, that we are powerful, that we are creators and that all we need to do is to dare to dream the future we deserve.

Let’s dream together, let’s think and talk, let’s plan and draw, let’s brainstorm and discuss, let’s take whatever steps we can take now however small and never stop until we get there.

Let’s close our eyes to the maddening circus and focus our energy on the reality we wish for ourselves and more importantly for our children.

When we were kids we thought everything was possible, because it is, so let’s try and remember who we were before the system got to us so we may create the future the system stole from us.
