Earlier, crypto enthusiasts had created a self-described βmeme appβ dubbed βgmβ app wherein users would greet each other with βgmβ or βgood morningβ messages. However, in September 2021, the gm app was down after a hacker reportedly gained access to the user data. Public channels are public to the internet, regardless of whether or not they are subscribed. A public channel is displayed in search results and has a short address (link). Developing social channels based on exchanging a single message isnβt exactly new, of course. Back in 2014, the βYoβ app was launched with the sole purpose of enabling users to send each other the greeting βYo.β Hui said the messages, which included urging the disruption of airport operations, were attempts to incite followers to make use of poisonous, corrosive or flammable substances to vandalize police vehicles, and also called on others to make weapons to harm police. Among the requests, the Brazilian electoral Court wanted to know if they could obtain data on the origins of malicious content posted on the platform. According to the TSE, this would enable the authorities to track false content and identify the user responsible for publishing it in the first place.
