Pas nimfa-nimfa lain dateng nyari dia, tubuhnya udah gak ada. Di tempat dia mati, tumbuh bunga putih kuning yang cantik tapi keliatan kesepian—bunga narcissus, yang sekarang kita kenal sebagai daffodil. Katanya, bunga itu simbol dia: indah, tapi dingin dan terpisah dari dunia. Echo, yang masih ada di hutan, cuma bisa ngulang tangisan pelan kalo ada orang jalan di deket situ. Suaranya katanya masih kedengeran sampe sekarang di tempat yang sunyi.
Jadi, cerita ini bener-bener nunjukin gimana Narcissus hancur gara-gara kesombongan dan cinta berlebihan sama diri sendiri. Nemesis bikin dia jatuh cinta sama sesuatu yang gak bisa dia gapai, dan itu jadi akhir hidupnya. Tragis, tapi dalem banget maknanya, kan?
